Faeroes

A named sea area used in the UK Shipping Forecast, surrounding the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic.

The forecast area takes its name from the island group between Scotland and Iceland. Forecasts for Faeroes describe expected wind, weather, visibility and sea state across the defined waters.

The area’s position does not justify assigning it one permanent wind force or wave height. Mariners should use current forecasts, warnings and official boundaries for the time and route concerned.
