Tyne
A Met Office Shipping Forecast sea area off northeast England in the western North Sea.
It is named after the River Tyne and lies south of Forth, west of Dogger and north of Humber within the official forecast grid.
It is much larger than the Tyne estuary itself. Exact limits are defined by the current Met Office area map and coordinates.
From the River Tyne estuary (Brythonic origin), Tyne typically has moderate northwesterlies of Force 3–5 and slight seas, with stronger winds in autumn and winter. A North Sea surge in January 1953 caused high seas and significant flooding along the Tyne coast.
