Humber

A named sea area used in the UK Shipping Forecast, off eastern England near the Humber estuary.

The area takes its name from the estuary. Forecasts for Humber describe expected wind, weather, visibility and sea state across the defined sea area rather than conditions within the river alone.

Tidal streams and surge can be operationally important, but no standard cyclonic wind or historical flood defines the area. Current official forecasts, warnings and local navigational information should be used.
