Bathing Platform
A flat surface located at the stern of a boat, designed to provide easy access to the water for swimming or boarding.
A bathing platform, often found on motor yachts, cruisers, and other leisure vessels, is a practical and safety-enhancing feature that extends from the stern (rear) of the boat. Typically, it is positioned just above or at water level, allowing swimmers to easily enter or exit the water. It also serves as a convenient spot for launching small tenders, kayaks, or other water toys. Bathing platforms may be integrated into the boat’s hull design or added as an aftermarket accessory. They are often equipped with a foldable ladder to further facilitate access to the water, and some may include handrails for additional safety. In more luxurious vessels, these platforms can be hydraulically operated, enabling them to be lowered into the water to create a “beach club” effect, where passengers can relax closer to the water’s edge. Bathing platforms are typically made from non-slip materials, such as teak or fibreglass, to prevent accidents when wet. They are an essential feature for recreational boating, enhancing both the functionality and enjoyment of water-based activities.
