FitzRoy
A Met Office Shipping Forecast sea area in the eastern North Atlantic west of the Bay of Biscay and Iberian Peninsula.
It lies south of Sole, west of Biscay and north of Trafalgar. Formerly named Finisterre, it was renamed FitzRoy in 2002 after Vice-Admiral Robert FitzRoy, founder of the Met Office.
The current Met Office coordinate map defines its precise limits; it is not simply the waters west of the Bay of Biscay.
