Wind Chill
The additional cooling of exposed skin caused by air moving over it.
A reported wind-chill temperature estimates how cold specified conditions feel under a defined model; it is not a new air temperature. Wet clothing and spray can further increase heat loss aboard a vessel, so practical protection must account for wind, moisture, duration and activity.
