Double Sheet Bend
A bend joining two ropes with an additional turn around the bight compared with a single sheet bend.
The extra turn can improve grip when joining unequal ropes, but performance still depends on rope material, relative size and loading. Dress the knot correctly with adequate tails and check it after loading; it is not automatically reliable with very slippery modern cordage or for life-safety work.
