Righting Moment
The turning effect that tends to return a heeled vessel towards upright.
For a displacement vessel at a stated heel angle, it is related to the vessel’s weight and righting lever. The moment changes with heel, loading and hull form and may become zero or negative at large angles; a righting lever is a distance, not the moment itself.
