Trucker’s Hitch
A rope-tensioning arrangement that uses a loop and returning line to create mechanical advantage.
It is useful for securing light loads, tarpaulins or similar equipment when the rope and attachment points are suitable. Friction reduces the theoretical purchase, and high local loads can damage rope or cargo; secure the tail appropriately and release tension under control.
