Sheet Bend
A bend joining two ropes by passing one end through a bight in the other rope and securing it around that bight.
It is often used with ropes of unequal size, with the bight formed in the larger or less flexible rope. Correct dressing, tail position and sufficient tail length matter; a double sheet bend may improve grip, but neither form is universally secure in slippery rope or changing loads.
