Fisherman’s Knot
A bend joining two ropes by tying an overhand knot in each end around the other rope’s standing part.
The two knots draw together under tension and can be difficult to release after a heavy load. The single form may slip with unsuitable or slippery rope and must not be confused with the double fisherman’s bend; select the connection for the actual material and use.
