Rigging Screw
A threaded fitting used to adjust the effective length and tension of a stay or shroud.
Oppositely threaded ends allow adjustment by turning the body, although designs vary. Adequate thread engagement, correct alignment and positive locking are essential; rig tension should follow the vessel and rig manufacturer’s guidance rather than an arbitrary number of turns.
