Padeye

A fixed eye or loop providing an attachment point for a line, block, shackle or other equipment.

It may be bolted, welded or otherwise secured to the vessel. Capacity depends on the fitting, loading direction and supporting structure, so its appearance alone does not establish suitability for lifting, tether attachment or another highly loaded application.
