Mooring Cleat
A strong fitting designed to secure lines holding a vessel alongside or to a mooring.
Its safe capacity depends on the fitting, backing, fastenings and supporting structure. Lead lines to avoid chafe and unsuitable angles, and use an appropriate securing method; a small sail-control cleat is not automatically suitable for mooring loads.
