RYA Handy Plotter
A compact transparent chartwork tool combining straight edges, a rotating compass rose and distance scales.
It is used to plot or measure courses and bearings on training and nautical charts without a separate parallel ruler and protractor. The rose is aligned with a chart meridian before the edge is used along the required line.
Distance must be taken from the chart’s latitude scale at the relevant latitude, and true, magnetic and compass references must not be mixed. It is a plotting aid, not a position sensor.

- Chart symbols for DR fix, Estimated Position, GPS Waypoint and Electronic Fix
- An expanded metric ruler
- Revised colour imprinting to improve visibility
- An easier to read scale for Error Correction
- Compass direction noted of the plotting wheel.
