Lundy

A named sea area used in the UK Shipping Forecast, covering the Bristol Channel and adjacent waters around Lundy.

The area takes its name from Lundy island off the north Devon coast. Forecasts describe expected wind, weather, visibility and sea state across the defined waters.

Large tidal ranges, strong streams, headlands and exposure to Atlantic swell can create marked local variations. Current official forecasts, warnings and local navigational information should be used rather than assuming one typical condition for the whole area.
