Fuel Collar
An absorbent or collecting collar placed around a deck fuel filler to catch small spills and splashback.
The collar fits around the fill opening or nozzle area during refuelling and helps prevent fuel reaching the deck and water. Designs include absorbent pads and reusable collars that direct overflow into a small container.
It is a secondary precaution rather than a substitute for identifying the correct tank, controlling delivery rate, monitoring the level and keeping spill-response materials ready. A saturated or contaminated collar must be handled and disposed of in accordance with the fuel and local requirements.
