When creating a cockpit-ready plan for pilotage, we should note a few critical pieces of information. Our plan needn’t be limited to these, but it should capture enough to satisfy each of their requirements.

The plan should be created after we appraise the pilotage. During this time, we should have considered options and made decisions, such as depth requirements. The focus of a cockpit-ready plan is execution, not decision-making.

This crib sheet explains the key needs for any cockpit-ready pilotage plan. It is used in the Creating a Pilotage Plan topic of the 'How to get in and out of harbour' module, part of the Day Skipper Theory course.
